Joseph
I was privileged to grow up in a dedicated Christian home, but I was not saved until September 5, 2004 at International Bible College in Stony Brook, New York. I grew up knowing the right things to say and the right way to look, but I knew for years that I was not truly saved. It was because of my pride I refused to accept Christ as my Saviour. Finally, in Bible college, I came to the point of being sick and tired of being a fake. That day, under deep conviction, I acknowledged my sin before God and put my faith and trust in His finished work upon the cross as the only payment for my sin. I asked Him to save me. I am truly thankful for His mercy upon my life. I have had the opportunity to work in the bus ministry since 2004, as well as teach athird and fourth grade Sunday School class, a junior-age class, and a teen class. I have completed a bachelor’s degree in church ministries, a master’s in Christian counseling, and a doctorate program in religious education. I believe this training will be instrumental as we plant churches and counsel and train church members. God called me to the mission field in October of 2004, working on my heart through Isaiah 6:8, when Isaiah said, “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us? Then said I, Here am I, send me.” After dedicating my life to be a missionary, God used my relationship with my wife’s family to lead us to go to Grenada.

I was born in the country of Grenada. When I was young, my parents brought me and my siblings to America to live in Brooklyn, New York. Unlike my husband, I did not grow up in a Christian home. As a teenager, someone from International Baptist Church knocked on my door and invited me to church. I was saved the following day, on April 13, 2003. The Lord started to work in my heart, allowing me to attend my church’s Christian school. During a chapel message on missions, the Lord spoke to my heart and I surrendered to the Lord that day to be a missionary for His glory. I have graduated with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from International Bible College, and have taught in Christian schools for four years. The Lord has since allowed me to serve in various ministries, including the bus ministry, nursery, children’s church, choir, and teen class. Through praying for His direction, the Lord gave my husband and me a burden for the people of my country to point them to the one and only true Saviour.
